Members of Congress purchased defense stocks prior to the recent Israel conflict


Based on reports, here are some members of Congress who purchased stocks of defense contractors prior to the recent Israel-Palestine conflict:


  • Representative Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) - Purchased up to $155,000 in Northrop Grumman stock on September 26th. He sits on the House Intelligence Committee.

  • Representative Kathy Manning (D-NC) - Bought $50,000 to $100,000 worth of stock in defense contractors Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman in 2021.

  • Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) - Bought stock options in Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman between January and May 2021.

  • Representative Victoria Spartz (R-IN) - Bought up to $100,000 worth of Lockheed Martin stock on June 28, 2021.

  • Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA) - Bought up to $250,000 worth of Lockheed Martin stock on June 22, 2021.

  • Representative Michael McCaul (R-TX) - Purchased up to $1 million in stock across a number of defense companies prior to recent conflict.

  • Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) - Recently reported purchases of Northrop Grumman and Raytheon stock by her husband in 2021.

  • Representative French Hill (R-AK) - Bought $15,000 to $50,000 in Lockheed Martin stock on Feb. 2, 2021.

  • Representative Elaine Luria (D-VA) - Made dozens of stock transactions with defense contractors in 2021.

The timing and companies are notable given their relevance to the conflict.
