A few weeks ago, I attended a Republican club meeting near LauderAle Brewery. Following the meeting, a group of us decided to unwind with a few beers at the brewery. What began as a casual evening among adults ended up just another frustrating encounter with a hypersensitive crybaby.
When we arrived, I was engaged in a light-hearted, albeit gross, conversation with another attendee. We were ribbing each other in jest, something that’s not uncommon among friends in a bar setting. At the time, the bartender didn't express any discomfort or indicate that our conversation was an issue. She didn’t say a word, and her expression remained neutral. It seemed like just another night out.
Fast forward to today, I just received a call from the brewery's owner. Apparently, the bartender was now claiming she had been deeply offended by our conversation. Let me be clear: she didn't voice any concerns during the actual event. Instead, she later claimed to be hurt by overhearing a conversation between two grown adults in a bar—a place where such conversations are par for the course.
I’m about up to my FUCK YOU with being misrepresented and lied about by the quick to take offense. It’s frustrating that in today’s world, conversations can be weaponized by overly sensitive individuals. The owner’s call wasn’t to address a genuine issue but to caution me about my choice of words—an absurd flex by this clown.
This experience has cemented my decision to avoid LauderAle Brewery in the future, and I strongly suggest that anyone who isn't looking for that “Big blue brother” vibe AT A BAR not risk it. Bars are supposed to be places where adults can relax and have candid conversations without the fear of being eavesdropped on and later chastised for it. LauderAle Brewery, it seems, has forgotten this unspoken rule.
Perhaps it's time the staff at LauderAle learned their place and remembered what it means to run a public establishment. If we can’t have an honest, light-hearted exchange without the looming threat of being reported to the speech police, then why go?
In a society that claims to champion free speech, it’s ironic and troubling to see how selective that freedom has become. So, for anyone who values their right to speak freely—be warned. LauderAle Brewery might not be the place for you.
