The New Speaker of the House is MORE BASED Than You Think | Meet Mike Johnson

The U.S. House of Representatives has a new leader at its helm, Rep. Mike Johnson, and he’s causing quite a stir in political circles for a multitude of reasons. With a political resume that outshines many, Johnson's recent appointment as the Speaker of the House has set the stage for an intriguing shift in the political dynamics of Washington, D.C.

Mike Johnson hails from Louisiana’s fourth district, representing approximately 700,000 residents across 16 parishes. His successful entry into the House of Representatives in 2016 was by no small margin, as he enjoyed the largest margin of victory the region had seen in over half a century.

Johnson’s credentials extend beyond the realms of politics. An experienced constitutional lawyer, his extensive experience has seen him serve on critical committees like the House Judiciary Committee and the subcommittee on the Constitution and limited government. His district, which encompasses vital military installations, further cements his position in Congress.

Johnson's Liberty score stands at a commendable 74%, which significantly outperforms his predecessor, McCarthy, who scored 54%. His voting record notably demonstrates his objections to certifying the 2020 election, and he played an instrumental role in filing the Texas Amicus brief. An interesting aspect of Johnson’s tenure is his consistent skepticism towards Ukraine-related bills, having voted against every one of them post the initial proposal. This stance sets him apart from McCarthy, who never cast a vote against them.

Moreover, Johnson's appearances on Tucker Carlson's program are of note. While many members of Congress shy away from making appearances on the show, Johnson's regular presence indicates his transparency and willingness to address and engage with challenging questions.

Johnson is not just a dedicated public servant but also a devoted husband and father. With four children, he boasts of a strong family unit, which often resonates with traditional conservative values. On the academic front, Johnson holds a doctorate from Louisiana State University. Unlike some in the political arena, he doesn’t insist on flaunting his title.

The new Speaker of the House isn't just capturing the attention of the conservative base. Media reactions, particularly from liberal outlets, have been intense and largely critical, suggesting that Johnson's influence is noteworthy. An evident seal of approval comes from former President Donald Trump, who has hinted at his support for Johnson, describing him as "spectacular."

Johnson's proactive approach, particularly against Big Tech companies like Twitter, has been remarkable. He's questioned Twitter's alleged alignment with the FBI and the potential suppression of American free speech, highlighting the concerns of many conservatives.

Rep. Mike Johnson's rise to Speaker of the House signals an interesting era in American politics. His rich background, combined with his conservative principles and willingness to challenge the status quo, positions him as a formidable force in the U.S. political landscape.
