'Twas the night before the election...

'Twas the night before the election, and all through the land,

Not a liberal was sleeping, nor any newsstand.

The media clung to their lies with great care,

In hopes that by morning, Trump wouldn’t be there.

The Democrats nestled, all snug in their dread,

While visions of polling gaps danced in their heads.

They hoped and they prayed that their stories would stick,

That spin and projection might just do the trick.

Out on the doorsteps, what a sight to behold—

Crispy hot fries, and Coke, icy cold!

Left by hopeful voters, red hats held tight,

As a tribute to Trump on this historic night.

MSNBC and CNN laughed and they sneered,

Claiming victory was theirs, though the outcome unclear.

"Trust us," they whispered, "the orange man's through!"

While nervously wondering if any of it was true.

Then out in the heartland there arose such a clatter,

The media scrambled to see what was the matter.

They tuned into streams, they scrolled with haste,

As chants of “four more years” spread with lightning-paced grace.

Twitter was buzzing, the memes were on fire,

As millions proclaimed their undying desire—

To see fake news shaken, to see lefties aghast,

When the votes came in, showing their forecasts wouldn’t last.

So here's to the night that liberals dread,

And to media lies spinning out of their head.

For America’s kitchens left Coke and fries true,

As a nod to the Donald, and a good laugh too.

'Twas the night before the reckoning, the night before dawn,

The night fake news realized—*their power was gone.*
